Test of a slightly modified Colt

This is a recently purchased, unmodified Colt Government model with a number of added frills such as ambi safety, series 90/enhanced beavertail, one piece, full length guide rod. The Trigger pull registers 5 lb 12 oz.

Both are vehicles but… The Norinco NP 29 differs from it’s twin A1 in .45acp in a number of ways. There are many advantages to buying guns used. Not only is the price lower, but the selection is more varied. You can often tell the functional quality of the gun by examining wear patterns on it. It is not uncommon for the seller to allow the buyer to shoot the gun. That is the ultimate test, and no NIB gun seller can match it.

Several weeks ago, I opted to build a long slide .45 ACP under the watchful eye of a close friend who had made a very fine 1911 via Dave Sample's On-Line 1911 class. I'd been most impressed with his pistol and that of his son, who'd also taken the course. I had seen and shot both of these pistols and had to have something similar.
